Easy Football Pumpkins
supplies needed:
- Oval shaped craft pumpkin
- round shaped craft pumpkin
- brown paint
- white Sharpie oil-based paint pen, medium point
- satin acrylic spray
- vinyl football sticker – we used this Arizona Cardinals vinyl decal
I thought making two pumpkins really added to the football spirt – one for the football and one for your team.
Football team spirit pumpkin:
The team pumpkin is really simple. Vinyl decals for professional NFL teams and college football teams are readily available. For your kid’s teams, you could make one with either a vinyl cutter or logo directly on the pumpkin.
We decided to support our home-town Arizona Cardinals.
helpful hint: when applying a flat sticker to a round surface such as a pumpkin, a hair dryer is helpful to get out the bubbles and smooth out the wrinkles. With the hairdryer on hot move back and forth to warm the sticker. The use your fingers or a credit card to smooth out the sticker.
Football pumpkin:
Step 1: paint the pumpkin with brown paint. Several coats may be needed depending on the quality of your paint.
Step 2: Using the white paint pen, draw on the football seam and stitching.
Step 3: Spray with the acrylic sealer.
