Valentine’s Day

The next holiday that I decorate for following Christmas. One that I don’t go all out for but when I’m missing the Christmas decorations it’s fun to add a few touches.

Reds, Pinks, Whites. Gold. Soft Textures.

Usually, I keep a few red Christmas decorations out too – no Santas or anything like that but the pitcher of red berries and red candles fit in well.

The wooden heart banner is new this year thanks to Target Dollar Spot. I also added the XOXO sign which I picked up at Michaels. The pink palette heart is from Target Dollar Spot last year and I’ve had the LOVE letters for a few years. Candles are always an easy way to add color and height to a mantel and you can use red candles that you also used for Christmas. I updated my cotton wreath with a light pink ribbon to tie it in with the rest of the Valentine’s Day decor.

I’ve made letter blocks myself for a few holidays but these I ordered from Etsy – the flower won me over.

On the patio I hung the Burlap Valentine’s Day Wreath I crafted a few years ago and a simple heart on my lamp post.

I still LOVE this felt flower sign I crafted two years ago. Pretty simple – paint the gray stripes and then add the felt roses (which can be a bit tricky until you get it down, then they’re pretty simple).

That’s it – keeping it simple. On February first I will bring out the mini mailbox for the 14 Things I Love About You for my son.
