I love decorating my home for the holidays and have bins (and bins and bins) full of holiday decorations. Some holidays I go all out (Christmas, Halloween, and Easter) and other holidays including the Fourth of July a few festive centerpieces, mantel updates, and a wreath for the door.

This has been the year of wreath crafting for me and I wanted to create something for the Fourth of July. I prefer more subtle 4th of July decorations and planned out a yarn wrapped wreath with paper stars. But as time was running out I went with this quick and simple design.

Materials needed for the July 4th wreath

*I linked to a rubber stamp set that is similar to what I used. Amazon has several options. Another great source is craft stores like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.

Fourth of July wreath instructions

  1. Cut a piece of ribbon and attach it to the wreath form with a pin (pin on the backside to hide). Wrap the ribbon around the form to cover a portion of the form and attach the end with a pin on the back backside. Select a second piece of ribbon a repeat. Keep wrapping with ribbon until the entire wreath form is covered. Mix of the patterns and vary the portion of the form that each ribbon covers.
  2. Cut 5 triangles out of the red craft paper. Stamp them with July 4th with blue ink. Glue the triangles to the string and attach to the wreath.
  3. Cut a strip from a wider width of the ribbon to make a wreath hanger.

Hang on your front door and enjoy the holiday. Happy Fourth!
